And now Teen Challenge USA is proud to present the first ever, nationally available drug prevention program - Stay Sharp. It has been the burden and vision of Mike Hodges to make this dynamic drug prevention program available to all of our Teen Challenge ministries across the country.

The passion and purpose of Stay Sharp is to connect with the hearts and minds of young people by providing them with a relevant and a compelling drug prevention program that will challenge them to say no to experimenting with and using drugs. Stay Sharp purposes to:

the hearts and minds of youth through a visual encounter.
youth about the dangers and consequences of drug and alcohol abuse.
youth to make healthy choices.
youth with truth and hope.

Stay Sharp is a DVD-based drug prevention presentation for middle school and high school youth. It's a hard hitting, high energy prevention message regarding abuse and its consequences. This is a visually dramatic presentation that features Teen Challenge students telling of their personal journeys toward destruction that includes a precise description of the "Facts, Lies and Costs" of illicit drug use. Their stories and the images in the DVD combine to create a moving presentation. Break points between presentation segments allow for local Teen Challenge students to share their personal stories and for the presenter to contribute their own comments and information.

We are in a showdown against the onslaught of drug and alcohol addiction in our society. The challenge is daunting but we will not throw in the white flag of surrender. Stay Sharp takes the battle to the front lines by challenging young people to consider the consequences and costs drug and alcohol abuse. Stay Sharp is a life-changing outreach resource that will positively impact countless lives. It should be in every Teen Challenge center and Church in America. Of the programs I have reviewed, I believe the Teen Challenge International, USA produced Stay Sharp video is one of the most powerful, efficient and creative substance abuse prevention and education approaches. This up-to-date "Generation Next" example, cinematography, graphics and message will reach participants in ways that they can relate to and understand.
